Here's what a 5-step PR plan
looks like.

Every Scerenity Coach response is a numbered five-step PR plan — story angle, target outlets, outreach draft, follow-up cadence, measurement — plus one targeted question at the end. Below is one fully-formed example, written for a fictional persona.

Sample coach output
Persona · Solo founder, healthy cookware launch (T2 trade tier)
1

Story angle

Lead with the Q1 wellness-reset hook: "most nonstick pans still leach forever-chemistry forever" — but reframe the post-holiday audience into "kitchen reset" buyers, not "wellness" buyers. The protagonist is the founder, a former line cook who spent 18 months getting the factory to drop PFAS, and the one data point is the third-party migration test showing undetectable leaching at 400 °F. That's the "why now" — every January everyone in the country is thinking about their kitchen.

The angle works because it gives T2 trade reporters a vertical frame (sustainability supply chain) plus a protagonist stake (single founder, single factory, one decision). Skip "healthy cookware" entirely — that's a T3 keyword story, not a T2 hook.

2

Pitch target list

Wirecutter (T2) — they cover "best nonstick" yearly and have a PFAS / forever-chemical beat running. Wirecutter gets the embargo Monday, 8 a.m. ET, with the migration test PDF attached.

The Strategist (T2) — kitchen vertical, NYC-based, reads well with an angle of "the cookware a former line cook actually wants." Their gift / reset reading gives them a January runway the trade pubs don't.

Apartment Therapy (T2/T3) — leans into the "kitchen reset" angle during January; their product round-ups are a strong source for vertical SEO pickup off the same story.

Domino (T2) — runs a recurring "small brand, big upgrade" series on independent kitchen brands; this is on-brief for them.

Real Simple (T2, mass tier) — needs the consumer-lifestyle frame, not the supply-chain one. Send this after the trade picks land — let Wirecutter and Domino drive the consumer pickup.

Outreach draft

Subject: Q1 kitchen-reset pitch: ex-line cook, 18-month PFAS drop, third-party migration test

Hi [first name], I'm a former line cook and I just spent 18 months getting my factory to drop PFAS — and got a third-party test showing undetectable leaching at 400 °F. Most "nonstick" coverage in Q1 leans on buyer-fatigue wireframes. I have a tighter angle: the kitchen-reset story (cookware, not wellness), with one named supply-chain decision and one data point to anchor it. Happy to send the migration test and a 10-min call if it fits any January "best nonstick" or small-brand roundup you're working on. — [your name]

DM variant (Twitter / Substack DM, for outlets that run DMs first): "Ex-line cook, 18 mo factory shift to drop PFAS, third-party migration test at 400 °F. Q1 angle: kitchen-reset, not wellness. Want the PDF?"

4

Follow-up cadence

D+0 — initial send, Mon 8 a.m. ET. Embed the migration test PDF, not a link.

D+3 — nudge: "in case this slipped past — happy to send the PDF if useful". Only one nudge; do not re-send the full body.

D+7 — break-up: "closing out my January list — pencil me in for next cycle if timing's off". This is the move that keeps the relationship alive for the next quarter.

D+14 — silent. Do not chase. Move on to T3 outlets (Apartment Therapy round-up, regional lifestyle sections) and shift the angle from trade to consumer-pickup.

5

Measurement

Track three leading indicators over a 21-day window:

1. Open rate on the D+0 send — target > 38%. Below 28% means the subject line is doing the wrong work; change one word, not the angle.

2. Response rate by D+7 — target 2 of 8 inbounds (25%). One in eight is the noise floor for trade pubs in January; below that and the embargo isn't worth carrying forward.

3. Pickup tier — target one T2 (Wirecutter / The Strategist / Domino / Apartment Therapy) within 21 days, plus share-of-voice in the "kitchen reset" angle vs. competing wellness frames. The trade pickup is the proxy; consumer pickup (Real Simple, gift guides) is the lagging indicator.

Is the founder available for a 10-min call the week of embargo, or is the drafter the only spokesperson? That single answer changes whether D+0 outreach goes to Wirecutter (embargo-led) or Domino (founder-led) first.
